US University Fair in Penang

Ah, there’s word finally on the US University Fair in Penang. I have been looking forward to it . MACEE’s (Malaysian American Commission on Education Exchange) email says – 32 U.S. university representatives who would love to have you on their campuses. I say – this is a great opportunity for Penang US University seekers to hear it from the horses’ mouths so please go and make the most of it.

The details:

32 universities/colleges
Admission is free but pre-registration is required

The E&O Hotel
Tuesday, February 11
4:30 pm to 8:30 pm

The event organizer is MACEE Education USA and it’s sponsored by the US Department of State so there will be quality. From visa to scholarship matters in regard to US university/college admission, you couldn’t get better pointers one-stop at another time or place. Naturally, I should suggest that this is also the chance to talk SAT specifics with the various participating schools. What then would they be?

SAT is invariably about its score so that would be a good place to start. Typically, you won’t find an answer in absolute minimum score but an indication of the required score range is reasonable to ask, and so is what is the average of their last intake (current freshmen) and its breakdown (Writing, Reading and Math components). Also, check if there are any advanced requirements for selected majors of study which you may be contemplating (score levels, SAT Subject Tests and so forth).

Scholarship/Financial Aid

SAT scores are often a selection index for scholarships and financial aids. Enquire these details pertaining to the respective schools in particular: aggregate score, component scores and Subject Test requirements. Find out what attainment levels qualify for what grades of scholarships and financial aids. What they tell you could turn out to be very motivating for you in your SAT endeavors.

Of course, there are other answers to chase too and the representatives – they ‘would love to have you on their campuses’ – will help you. So much, so convenient, this is college shopping made in easy.
